We have to start somewhere. Anyone who tells you that this is “unrealistic ponies and unicorns” is flat out LYING to you, and tacitly supporting the status quo.
If other countries can afford to provide basic human rights like tuition free college and Medicare for All, then so can we. It’s a matter of priorities, basic decency and compassion.
All positive change begins with hope, optimism, and dissatisfaction with the way things are. Please recognize: pundits and politicians who imply that, “It’s too expensive, we can’t afford to do any better; we can’t afford to do the right thing; we have to be pragmatic; we have to go incrementally right now” — those people are defending the status quo.
We demand better Democrats. Democrats who are not beholden to lobbyists, and who actually represent average people, not millionaires, billionaires, Wall Street, and Goldman Sachs. And NO, this is not some unreasonable “purity test” – that’s just a talking point used by centrist (corporate) Democrats to discourage the base from holding them accountable.
Nothing is too expensive. Republicans prove it every time when their President adds trillions to the deficit.
