i love it when youre drinking citrus drinks and you cant feel your tongue and your entire face starts sweating its so cleansing

my doctor said im allergic to citrus

Lol oh god this was me with oranges as a little kid. I used to drink orange juice a lot with breakfast and it always made my throat and mouth feel strange and it was harder to breathe for a little while and my dumb ass just thought that was how orange juice tasted for everyone. And I was a quiet kid so I never mentioned it to anyone. For some reason I kept drinking it because it sort of tasted good until the throat puffiness set in.

One day my mom asked me if I wanted orange juice and I was like “nah, I don’t really like it anymore, I don’t like how it makes it hard to breathe” and she was like WAIT WHAT and long story short my mom found out I’d been quietly having allergic reactions at breakfast for years

So some friends were over for when we had this big crab dinner. One friend stops eating after only having one crab, so I ask her if maybe she wasn’t hungry? She goes “no I’m hungry, I’ll get something else to eat. I don’t really like the tingles you know?” And the whole table goes silent. “Tingles?” I ask. At this point she realized that maybe this experience wasn’t universal. So she explains what she’s feeling and we all go “hun, that’s a shellfish allergy!” Long story short we ended up taking her to the hospital because her airway started to close down.
